Château de Clérac, just a 30 minute drive from Bordeaux, and set in the beautiful Haute-Saintonge countryside of the Charente-Maritime is both a cost-effective alternative to a luxury villa and a unique opportunity to be king of your own castle! The chateau, in the village of Clérac, lies at the centre of its 22 acres of walled gardens, forests and outbuildings. The château has a pool - an outdoor 11x5m salt-water pool which is but 50m from the gardens at the rear of the chateau. Inside the chateau you'll find plenty of space. On the ground floor there's a huge salon, fully equipped kitchen, dining room, library, gallery and lounge. The bedrooms and their en-suites are on the 1st floor of the château, together with the upstairs gallery, linnen room and hall. The approxmate floor area of Chateau de Clérac is 750 metres squared (about 8000sq feet). We usually operate a self catering chateau rental, by the week , weekend or other period. However, we can organize catering on occassion. We also offer Bed and Breakfast at the chateau out of peak season. By Train

Clérac, being a small village in rural France, does not have a train station (the rail line you see in maps is no longer used). So, traveling to Château de Clérac by rail will, at some stage, involve another mode of transport - e.g. taxi!

The nearest rail station to Clérac is Bussac - 15mins away by car.
