Château de Clérac is on the outskirts of the village of Clérac (3 mins by foot!), in the Charente-Maritime department of France. Clérac is a small, pretty rural village with some 400 inhabitants. Restaurant - Auberge des Lacs Bleus

The auberge is open 7 days a week and during the week serves an excellent-value 4/5-course set meal for 12 Euros - wine included! In the evening 3 gourmet menus are available (as well as a la carte) ranging from 16-32 Euros. Reservations are advisable in peak seasons and Sundays. Auberge des Lac Bleus

Baker & Corner Shop

The bakery (Boulangerie-Patisserie) opened in December 2004 and makes a fantastic selection of breads, cakes and fine pastries. The corner shop (Alimentation) has most essentials; they can even get foreign newspapers on request.

The Museum

Museum of Clérac  

The municipal museum beside the church provides a fascinating insight into local bygone crafts and traditions.
